Likho Urdu (لکھو اردو, “write Urdu”) is a small collection of free tools that make it easier to write Urdu on computers and phones. It is built in Pakistan by [YOUR NAME], a web developer who has spent years building websites for Pakistani businesses and kept running into the same problem: people know Urdu perfectly well, but getting it onto a screen in proper Urdu script is still harder than it should be.
What we build
Each tool solves one everyday problem well. The Roman Urdu converter lets you keep typing the way you already do. The InPage converter rescues years of text locked in old InPage files. Urdu image to text copies Urdu out of photos, and voice typing lets you speak instead of type.
How we work
- Private by design. All tools run in your browser. We do not collect, upload or store what you convert.
- Honest about limits. Where a tool guesses, it shows you, like the highlighted words in the Roman Urdu converter. Where accuracy varies, as with Nastaliq OCR, we say so.
- Built on open work. We use respected open-source components, such as the Tesseract reading engine and Google’s Noto Urdu fonts, and credit them on our credits page.
- Free to use. The site is supported by advertising, so the tools stay free with no sign-up.
